Project overview and map
This map shows an overview of our plans for the HyNet North West Hydrogen Pipeline as of the October / November 2024 public consultation.

What is the redline boundary?
The redline boundary (sometimes referred to as the Draft Order Limits) represents the boundary of the maximum development area we think we'll need for the project. This includes temporary works, like construction access and storage, and permanent works, such as the pipeline, HAGIs and BVIs.
At certain points along the pipeline route we are yet to confirm the exact final location of the pipeline and have presented some options which you can see on the map. This is because we're still gathering survey results, undertaking engagement and consultation with stakeholders, and seeking more public feedback through this consultation.
We will refine the redline boundary in these areas once we've received feedback from this consultation and carried out more technical work.
Interactive map
Our interactive map shows the proposals we are consulted on as part of the Stage Three consultation.
As well as showing the redline boundary and the other permanent parts of the project, such as the area where we plan to locate the pipeline and our proposals for hydrogen above ground installations, you can see the temporary parts of the project on this map. This includes:
- The routes we plan to use for vehicles when constructing the project.
- Temporary construction compounds.
- Trenchless crossing locations.
You can also search for specific locations by using the postcode search tool.
